12 month vs. 10 month pay options 2008-09

Do you prefer to be paid over 12 months instead of the 10 months we work? There are at least 2 options available to you.

1) Open an account with Provident.

2) Have the district withhold money from your paycheck each month during the year and then receive two checks during the summer. The 2008-2009 school year will see changes from the previous year in the calculated deducted amounts. According to Dick Nicoll from the District office, "We have offered to adjust summer pay so that take home pay would be equalized throughout the year, and the leadership of MDEA, DMA, and MDPSA have accepted. Beginning with the first paycheck for the 2008-09 year, employees listed above selecting summer pay will receive roughly the same amount of take home pay on all 12 checks."

Please note that if you want to choose this 12 month option, you must complete the necessary forms by September 15th, 2008.
